In
modern world, women have the benefit from wider chance of getting a career
outside there household sphere. Many women, however, have some difficulties
deciding whether they will pursue a career or not. Some of them stay at their
offices, while at the same time they act as housewives. But, the other chooses
to concentrate their attention to their household only.
Being
career women offers the advantage of a wider chance of self-actualization. They
can widen their knowledge and develop their capacity. For example, many women
do not know exactly what their talent is before they start a career. But then,
after they have a career they know which field they can do best and which one
they can’t. This will help them to refocus their life goal.
Another
big advantage is that they can help supporting their household‘s finance so
that men do not become the single fighter in financing their families. For
example, if a wife works, she can help her husband financing their children’s
educational budget, so that their children can have the best education.
Being
career women, on the other hand has some significant disadvantages too. They
have more burdens in their life, as they have to manage their job as well as
their household. For example, a female teacher has to prepare teaching material
for tomorrow class while at the same time she has to think about how to handle
her naughty son.
In
addition, being career women can be risky for their household. For example,
many women have to spend their time in their career as it grows more
challenging, so they have only limited time left for their family, resulting in
their lack of care and attention for their household and children. The extreme
impact of this situation is the broken home.
In
the end, the decision that each woman makes will depend on their own personal
values, as well as their readiness for taking on the considerable consequences
of each choices.

Nowadays, the police have been applying the new
regulation concerning the use of seat belts. In European countries, this
regulation has been applied for a long time. However, this new regulation has
become controversial and is an interesting topic to discuss. Here are some of
the arguments.
The use of seat belt has been proven to reduce
the risk of injury or death in an accident. Seat belt has become a standard
component in cars.
The research shows that most car accidents will
cause an injury to the head. Frequently, drivers or the passengers driving
without seat belts die because of this. By wearing the seat belts, the injury
will not happen since the seat belts restrain our body on the car seat when the
accident happens.
Unfortunately, many cars, especially the old
ones, don’ have seat belts. This is because the traffic conditions in the past
were unlike the recent traffic conditions. The designer of old cars didn’t
consider a seat belt as an important part. Besides, the drivers wearing the
seat belts will think that they are completely safe, so they may drive
carelessly. They are safe, indeed, but how about the safety of others?
The seat belt is only one of the ways to reduce
the risk of car accidents. It doesn’t mean that we are completely safe. In short,
our safety depends on ourselves.

What
is the writer’s intention?
a. To describe the use of seat belt.

Acid rain is rain that is highly acidic because
of Sulphur oxides, nitrogen oxides, and other air pollutants dissolved in it.
Normal rain is slightly acidic, with a pH of 6. Acid rain may have a pH value
as low as 2.8.
Acid rain can severely damage both
plant and animal life. Certain lakes, for example, have lost all fish and plant
life because of acid rain.
Acid rain comes
from sulphur in coal and oil. When they burn, they make sulphur dioxide (SO2 ).
Most sulphur leaves factory chimneys as the gaseous sulphur dioxide (SO2 ) and
most nitrogen is also emitted as one of the nitrogen oxides (NO or NO2 ), both
of which are gases. The gases may be dry deposited–absorbed directly by the
land, by lakes or by the surface vegetation. If they are in the atmosphere for
any time, the gases will oxidise (gain an oxygen atom) and go into solution as
acids. Sulphuric acid (H2 SO4 ) and the nitrogen oxides will become nitric acid
(HNO3 ). The acids usually dissolve in cloud droplets and may travel great distances
before being precipitated as acid rain. Catalysts such as hydrogen peroxide,
ozone and ammonium help promote the formation of acids in clouds. More ammonium
(NH4 ) can be formed when some of the acids are partially neutralised by
airborne ammonia (NH3 ). Acidication increases with the number of active
hydrogen (H+) ions dissolved in acid. Hydrocarbons emitted by for example, car
exhausts will react in sunlight with nitrogen oxides to produce ozone. Although
it is invaluable in the atmosphere, low level ozone causes respiratory problems
and also hastens the formation of acid rain. When acid rain falls on the ground
it dissolves and liberates heavy metals and aluminium (Al). When it is washed
into lakes, aluminium irritates the outer surfaces of many fish. As acid rain
falls or drains into the lake the pH of the lake falls. Forests suffer the
effect of acid rain through damage to leaves, through the loss of vital
nutrients, and through the increased amounts of toxic metals liberated by acid,
which damage roots and soil micro organisms.

Facsimile, often called fax, is away of transmitting
texts and pictures over telephone lines. News services often use facsimile to
send news, stories, and photographs to newspaper and television stations.
Banks, law firms and other businesses use facsimile to send copies of document,
to clients and other organization.
A device called a facsimile machine is used for
transmitting and receiving images. Facsimile machines resemble small
photocopiers. However, they are equipped with a telephone or are connected to
one. To send a document, the user inserts it into the machine and dials the
telephone number of the receiving fax machine. After the connection is made, an
electronic scanner on the transmitting machine moves across the page and
converts the image a set of electric signals. These signals travel over the
telephone line to the receiving fax machine. That machine converts the electric
signals back into an image of the original document and then prints a copy.
Some business people use small desktop fax

The story to ‘Kung Fu Panda’ is
nothing really new, but it is told so well as to actually pack an emotional
punch. And it never comes off as laughable, which in lesser hands could easily
have happened. Speaking of laughs, there are many to be had here as well. ‘Kung
Fu Panda’ works on just about every level a family movie can.
The cast features Jack Black as Po
the Panda. The furious five, the most feared group of warriors in all of China,
consists of Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Monkey (Jackie Chan), Mantis (Seth
Roger), Viper (Lucy Liu), and Crane (David Cross). Their master is Shifu (Dustin
Hoffman), a fur ball creature who is a legendary teacher of Kung Fu. Escaped
from prison and on hi way to claim the Dragon Scroll, which will make him the
all powerful Dragon Warrior, is the good gone bad Tai Lung (Ian Mc Shane). But
first, he’ll have to muscle his way around 400 pounds of panda to get to it.
‘Kung Fu Panda’ is a damn good time
